Lions Club of Madras T.Nagar

PERMANENT PROJECT

The club has a prestigious permanent project in running an Ayurvedic Hospital at 95th Street, 15th sector KK Nagar Chennai 600078.

Originally the permanent project being the Polio Treatment Center was Started in 1987 at Saidapet in a humble way and today it has settled down in a spacious premises after nearly 20 years.

This permanent Project is the brainchild of our Past President Late Dr.Ln.P.K.Krishnan.

At this juncture we thank Ln N R Reddy and Ln Audiseshiah of Lions club of Madras Presidency who have been instrumental in running our hospital at the existing location.

The Hospital premise has been recently renovated as a part of Golden Jubilee year Improvement Project and it has taken a new look.

The Hospital has a Full time Dr Ilango and provides Specialised treatment of Polio affected children and for arthritis, joint pains, spondylitis, nervous debility, diabetes etc.

The hospital has experienced Lady Masseur for massages.

The hospital also provides inpatient treatment facilities for outstation patients. Two In patient rooms are available with a Patient Cot and Attendant Cot.

Consultation is free and Hundi boxes are provided to solicit voluntary Contributions from patients.

The hospital is administered by Lions club of T Nagar Charitable Trust, a duly recognized and registered Trust comprising 4 Permanent trustees and 5 Nominated Trustees.

Donations to the Trust qualify for exemption u/s 80G of the Income Tax Act.

A corpus fund has been set up and we have been able to raise about Rs 9 lakhs till date and it is proposed to build the Corpus to a Sufficient Level so that the Interest from the corpus fund will meet the day to day running expenses of th Hospital. During the last two years over Rs.2.50 lakhs have spent on Infrastructure facilities. Average monthly expenses associated with the running of the Hospital is around Rs.30000 per month including medicines.

More than 300 patients on an average visit our Hospital every month.

Blood Sugar level is also checked at our Hospital at a Nominal cost of Rs 30/-.

The Hospital works from 9AM to 1 PM and from 5.30 PM to 8.30 PM on all days except Sundays and National Holidays.

The running expenses are met through various sources of revenue, viz., Hundi Collections, voluntary donations, contributions from club, interest from corpus Fund etc. However these sources are not sufficient and hence funds are generated every year through various fund raising programmes to not only meet day to day expenses but also build the Corpus .

We therefore seek donations from all well wishers and service minded brothers to enrol as Health Care members by contributing Rs 2000/- to our Trust or as Patrons by contributing Rs 5000/- and above.

It is needless to emphasise that our club is only club in the multiple District of 324 which are running a permanent project in Ayurveda of this magnitude.

We also take this opportunity to invite you to visit our hospital and witness the treatments meted out to patients.
